Scouts - Congratulations to James E and Daniel S who have both achieved their Chief Scouts Silver Award at 5th Dronfield Cub Pack. They have both worked very hard to achieve this award. Well done boys, this is a great achievement. 


Purple Crocuses for Polio The Rotary Club have donated 500 crocus bulbs to all schools to raise awareness of the worldwide campaign to eliminate Polio. Over the next fortnight, every child will plant one of the bulbs in a prominent area within the school grounds ours will be planted in pots to be displayed on the steps at the front of the school (in front of the old main door) and in the grass on the bank. 


STEM certificate – Congratulations to all the teaching staff. As a school, we have been awarded a certificate for our “commitment to increasing our pupils’ awareness of the range of possibilities opened up by studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects” and to “mark the school’s commitment to working with STEM ambassadors.” The letter with the certificate states, “Evidence shows that engaging with STEM Ambassadors can help young people achieve their potential in STEM subjects as well as inspiring them to explore STEM subjects. Well done to all the staff and in particular, Miss Spencer, Mr Hands and Mr Roberts who take a lead on these subjects.


Swimming – Congratulations to Jessica G who competed for Dronfield Dolphins at the Robin Hood gala in Ponds Forge Olympic 50m pool. She won 2 silver medals for 100m backstroke and 200m freestyle and gained fourth place for her 50m breastroke. She achieved personal bests for all these events. Next Saturday she's competing at the Rotherham metro gala at Ponds Forge again, this time in the 25m pool. These are impressive results Jessica, very well done. Good luck next weekend, we’re rooting for you! 


Little Princess Trust Fund – At the end of last term, we held a non-uniform day to support The Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for children who have lost their hair through treatment of diseases. Isobel R (one of our then Y6 pupils) had her hair cut in assembly and donated it to The Little Princess Fund. As a school, we raised £200 for this worthy cause.
