Cross Country – Congratulations to Jack Ryan, Jayden Wheeler, Maxim Johnson, Harry Nashir, Adam Worthy, Anthony Seller, Mya Abumere, Lottie Dyson, Rae Kang, Bethany Wilks, Alicia Wilks, Lily Ward, Harrison Parker, Zachary Kaye, Harvey Gadsden, Leo Ward, Evan Williams, Matthew Thorpe, Isabelle Peckett, Jorja Kenworthy, Lottie Hill, Kizzy Bembridge, Daisymae Oliver and Niamh Barker who represented our school at the North East Derbyshire Cross Country Championship. All did extremely well and I’m thrilled to report that our Year 4 team lifted the 2016/17 trophy and the Year 5 team came 2nd overall – well done to you all.

Year 3 Pirate Day – the Y3s had a great time celebrating pirates last week. They role played brilliantly, I was made to walk the plank and I was terrified! Thank you to all Y3 parents who supported the dressing up, the children looked fantastic; the teachers looked amazing too!

Table Tennis – We wish the boys’ and girls’ Table Tennis teams lots of luck in the County Finals on Tuesday.

Poppy Appeal – we have just been informed that we raised £494.09 for the appeal this year (this includes £196 raised from the knitted poppies). Thank you for your generous donations.

Dancing – Congratulations to Lottie Dyson who competed in the second Coalville Choreography Festival. She came second in the duet category and received such high marks that she has qualified for the All England Championships. Well done Lottie, we wish you wish lots of luck in the Championships.

Singing – Congratulations to Isobel Ryder who successfully auditioned for the National Youth Girls’ Choir of Great Britain. Auditions for the Youth Choir are highly competitive and on average, only one in 80 girls is successful. Isobel has also achieved a merit in her Grade 4 singing examination (an examination which is usually taken by pupils at Secondary School). Well done Isobel!
